Ximula at Phuket King’s Cup Regatta 2017 – Part 1

The Ximula team is back once again at the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta! It is our second time here and it is the biggest regatta we take part in all year. We have been eagerly waiting for this event since our participation last year.

The Phuket King’s Cup Regatta 2017 is held from 2^nd December to 9^th December.

喜慕乐团队再次出征普吉岛泰皇杯帆船赛。这是我们第二次参赛也是我们今年所参加的最具规模的一场帆船比赛。从去年参赛开始，我们就早已为这次参赛做好准备了。

这次的普吉岛泰皇杯帆船赛的举办时间是12月2日至9日。

12月2日（星晴六）：参赛者登记日

12月3日（星期日）：测试赛及开幕式

12月4-6日（星期一至三）：比赛日

12月7日（星期四）：休赛日

12月8-9日（星期五、六）：比赛日

12月9日（星期六）：颁奖日及闭幕式

We arrived on 2^nd December for registration and our dear sailboat, Ximula II is assigned number 58. After some minor checks on board, we head to our accommodations, Kata Bai D Inn! Our team stayed at the same place last year and we are glad to see our ‘marks’ from last year!

我们12月2日就抵达现场进行选手登记，这次，我们的出征帆船II 被分配到的编号是58号。在船上经过多项常规检查后，我们便前往住处——Kata Bai D客栈！去年，我们的团队就是住在这里，我们很高兴还能看到我们去年在这里留下的印记。

The team had some fun on Ximula II on 3^rd December, before heading to the opening ceremony!

12月3日，在去开幕式宴会之前，我们团队在Ximula II船上娱乐了一番。

We head out with excitement for our first race the next day early in the morning. Kata beach was already filled with people!

明天就要开始第一场比赛了，我们异常兴奋。而此时的卡塔海滩已经聚满了人了。

While on board, the Ximula team earnestly awaits their instructions and made its final preparations. The race is starting!

在船上，喜慕乐团队认真地听候指令并且做好最后的准备。

比赛开始了！

With good wind on our sail, Ximula II set off to a racing start! The team work seamlessly and stayed right on the competition right off the bat. However, a moment lapse of concentration at the midpoint of the race, our spinnaker sail was tangled during its release.

今天的风力很好，Ximula II 快速起航了。团队配合的天衣无缝，并且在面对状况时能迅速做出正确的行动。然而，在比赛途中一下走神了，我们的大三角帆在展开的时候打结了。

The situation proves critical as we lost all of our time made while untangling the sail. We were unable to make the finish as the first race day comes to an end.

在这至关重要的时刻，我们把时间耗在了解帆上。正因如此，在第一天比赛结束时，我们还未能完成赛事。

The Ximula team decided to take a more cautious approach on race day two, 5^th December. While we did not achieve the top three standings, the team had a thrilling run.

12月5日，喜慕乐团队决定在比赛的第二天要加倍地谨慎。由于我们暂时没有拿到前三名，因此，团队需要更加奋力地比赛。

Race day three presented us with the toughest course! The Ximula team took the challenge with open arms. The tough course heighten the team’s concentration and communication, and the flawless teamwork took us to our highest finish as of yet!

比赛第三天的航线是难度最大的。喜慕乐团队展开双臂迎接挑战。高难度的比赛使得团队更加专注并且更注重沟通配合，而正是这完美的团队配合使得我们拿到了开赛以来最好的成绩。
